The European Apprenticeship Roadmap is a project funded by the Erasmus+ program of which Genech Formation is a partner.
The goal? To better understand the organization, structure, and possibilities of apprenticeship trainings within the various European countries. This will also stimulate the desire for international apprenticeships for students, companies, and VET-providers.
The partnership brings together 9 organizations in 7 countries. Each of the partners has different vocational education and training systems (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Spain, France, Italy, North Macedonia).
Throughout Europe, the partner organizations coordinate the objectives of mapping the challenges together with various professional partners. The focus resides upon creating a common guide for international apprenticeship to explain the specific rules in each country. A digital platform will be developed to host the framework and supporting documents with the purpose of facilitating the implementation.
To advance these objectives and the following expected results, the partner organisations met in Tetovo, North Macedonia. They were hosted by partner CDI (Community Development Institute). CDI is an association focusing on the promotion and development of apprenticeship training, which is currently non-existent in North Macedonia.
From 14th to 16th March 2023, the consortium was able to finalize the international apprenticeship guide, the framework documents, as well as proposing a common international apprenticeship contract. A following phase of reflection was also planned around an apprenticeship day to be implemented individually by all the partners.
There were 20 participants representing the various partner organizations. They also experienced the hospitality of the host partner learning about the country, the North Macedonian culture. Sonja Dishovska from the State agency for Employment, shared her experiences with a work training program currently existing and being promoted in North Macedonia.
