YA – Vocational College of Ostrobothnia in Vaasa, Finland is a Vocational Education and Training educator that anticipates and ensures professional competence needs and can offer both students and staff opportunities and alternatives to achieve their goals of personal development, education and work.

YA has approximately 2700 student’s graduation for qualifications and diplomas, and about 4600 young and adult students in total within lifelong
Learning, offering training within technology, agriculture and forestry, business, administration and law, health and welfare, humanities and arts, natural sciences, ICT, service industries and social sciences. YA offers training in versatile learning environments, through e.g. on-the-job learning periods that correspond to the students’ needs. Employees and staff are about 200. YA is owned and maintained by The Federation of Swedish Ostrobothnia for Education and Culture.

The mission of YA is to prepare students and staff for a society and a region with close contacts across the cultural and national boundaries. Close collaboration with the regional industry and European VET educators guarantees competence development vital for YA but also for employers and employees.
